IWSG: Taking It Back

Okay, people. I've had enough. I'm tired of being tired. I'm bored with being blocked. I'm weary of waffling and wallowing and waiting for . . . well, everything. For energy, mental and physical. For answers. For direction. For inspiration.

Awhile back, I declared 2016 to be the Year of Living Creatively. I've taken cooking classes, I've got art classes lined up in the Spring, I'm more aware and open to the world around me in general. I took action.

Well, I'm taking action again. Now. This time, it's about my writing and my health/weight. I'm not exactly sure yet what this looks like - I've got some ideas, some plans - but changes are being made. Something has to be done, and I'm the only one who can - and will! - do it.

I'm taking my life back.

  2. Man, I hear you sister! Have you ever written to prompts? That is one creative exercise that always surprises me--finding an external "requirement" for something and using that as a starting place. It unlocks doors. You can do it!

    1. Yep, I've written to prompts, and it really does help. I also use contest deadlines and "requirements" like having to use certain words in the story or a tight word count, etc.

    1. We have to dig ourselves out from under whatever is holding us down. It's hard but worth it.

    1. Go for it, Tyrean! If I can do it, you can do it. We can all do it!

I always worry a bit about TMI (Too Much Information) with my blog posts, but I figure some of us are in the same boat so I share but within limits. :)

  21. If you need to lose weight, get a small energetic dog. I brought my brother's dog back from Illinois last weekend and she has kept me moving enough to already lose 3 pounds. Part of that is exercise and part is that I'm too exhausted in the evening to snack. :D

    1. Ha! I don't know how the tortoises would feel about that. I suppose I could put them on a leash...Larry especially likes to walk...but I don't think it would be quite the same in terms of energy and speed.... :)
