Motivational Monday

CREATIVITY IS LIKE WASHING A PIG.
IT'S MESSY. IT HAS NO RULES.
NO CLEAR BEGINNING, MIDDLE OR END.
IT'S KIND OF A PAIN IN THE ASS,
AND WHEN YOU'RE DONE,
YOU'RE NOT EVEN SURE IF THE PIG IS REALLY CLEAN
OR EVEN WHY YOU WERE WASHING A PIG
IN THE FIRST PLACE.
(Luke Sullivan)

That's pretty much how I feel most of the time.

And I wouldn't have it any other way.

How about you?

  1. I definitely do agree that creativity has no set "path", it's beautiful chaos :)

  2. Good analogy. Don't forget that the pig is also probably annoyed.

    1. I'm sure your art journaling turned out way prettier than that pig. :)

  4. LOL. That is so perfect. I'm going to think about washing pigs every time I finish a manuscript.

  5. I'm laughing. Yep, you nailed it. That darn pig! Once you clean it, it's just going to roll in the mud again anyway.

  7. Yes! Why was I washing that pig?

"NO CLEAR BEGINNING, MIDDLE OR END." <-- I identified with that part the most. Sometimes I just hop in in the middle, and discover I was at the beginning of the end.

  10. Our process can be pretty messy at times, can't it? I think the good thing is, we're free to tackle our work however we want as long as it gets the job done!

    1. I think you're right - our process is our process, as long as it works for us that's what counts.
