The August issue of Nailpolish Stories - "a tiny and colorful literary journal" where the titles of the stories are the colors of actual polish - is up and contains my micro fiction story, "Hopelessly in Love."
I'm pretty sure the creator of that nailpolish title color was going for something, uh, different than what I wrote, but I hope you enjoy reading it and all the other stories in the issue.
Congrats on having your story included in this issue, I'd never heard of Nailpolish Stories before but I love it. Your story is heartbreaking and so touching, I'm really impressed by the emotion you conveyed in so few sentences. Great work!
ReplyDeleteJulie - thank you so much. It's one of the reasons I love flash and micro fiction - the challenge of not only containing the story, the emotion, the characters, etc in so few words/lines but also releasing it, letting it be larger than it is on the page.
ReplyDeleteMadeline, it's amazing how your tiny tale packed such a powerful punch! That last line was heart-breaking; well done!

ReplyDeleteEmily - thank you! And thanks for reading. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Madeline,
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely story, moving and brief--and the title is perfect.
Donna
Donna - thank you. I love the title, too. :)
ReplyDeleteAnother tight, poignant piece, Madeline. I don't know how you do it! So...how's that microfiction collection coming along? =]
ReplyDeleteMilo - thank you, as always. The collection, well, one of these days, maybe in the Fall... :)
