Gratitude, Passion and NaNo

"TO ME,
NORMAL IS THE ABSENCE OF PASSION.
I WANT TO CRAVE AN EMBRACE,
LOSE MYSELF IN THE TASTE OF A
DELICIOUS PIECE OF DARK CHOCOLATE,
FEEL EVERY HAIR ON MY ARM STAND ON END
FROM THE LICK OF A COOL BREEZE.
NORMAL?
NAH, KEEP IT.
I'M TOO BUSY
BEING GRATEFUL AND PASSIONATE
ABOUT THIS LIFE I'M LIVING."
(Kristin Cast)

Busy being grateful and passionate? That's me! Hopefully, it's all of you, too.

For the rest of the month, I'm throwing myself into my NaNo novel. I will come up for air. And turkey. And chocolate. And to remind my husband and the tortoises who I am. But otherwise, I'm pretty much on a blogging break.

I wish you all a wonderful rest of the month and a very happy Thanksgiving! See you in December!

  1. Grateful and passionate. Good plan. And glad NaNo is going well for you! I am really struggling--the month has taken it out of me from every directions. Not sure if I even can win at this point. Certainly not if I keep letting distractions seep in.

    1. Hang in there, Hart! Can you cut any of those distractions down even just a little?

You do know you've already "won" just by attempting NaNo, right? You've got words/scenes/an outline that you didn't have in the beginning of the month and that's something! :)

    1. Me, too. Although, maybe more words, less food would be better for my waistline? :)

  13. I LOVE that quote at the top. Gratitude and passion sound like ideal goals to me. :)

You have tortoises! Cool. Years ago, we bought our daughter a baby African spurred tortoise. When it was little, it had the prettiest lime green eyes, and its shell was ruffled around the edges. She still had the tortoise when she moved out, and it was so big, it needed a whole bedroom for its habitat. She eventually had to donate it to an animal shelter... which already had another tortoise to keep it company.

Anyhow, Happy Thanksgiving. (The only time of year it's okay to tell someone to "Get stuffed!")

We are really hoping our tortoises don't get that big. They shouldn't, but Larry does like to eat....

      Happy Thanksgiving to you, too!

    1. The three essentials at this time of year. Other seasons, I might subtract turkey and add wine. :)
