Motivational Monday

NEVER GO TO A DOCTOR
WHOSE PLANTS HAVE DIED.
(Erma Bombeck)

Okay, I know this isn't a particularly motivational quote, but it made me laugh and sometimes a good chuckle is all that's needed to get on the right track.

Have a great week!

  1. Erma Bombeck was one of a kind.

I'm worried now. My doctor doesn't keep any plants.

    1. Yeah, I don't remember any plants at my doctor's either. I'm hoping she has some at home. Really healthy ones. :)

    1. I'm still holding out hope that our doctors all have wonderful thriving plants at home....

  4. I always laugh at that. It probably means his office staff is inefficient or lazy and that means trouble with billing and scheduling so it's good advice.

    1. Next time I go to the doctor, I'm really going to have to look into this whole plant thing....

  7. Love that quote! I'm never sure if I'm fond of doctors with fake plants, either. It makes me wonder . . .
    Happy Motivational Monday, Madeline!

  9. Lol - good quote - I haven't noticed either! I've also made it a rule never to visit a doctor with a last name of 'slaughter' - yes, we had one in my town growing up. It scared me.

  10. This is classic. LOL. I hope I am not visiting any doctors any time soon but when I do I will be sure to check out the plants. :D

  12. It did make me laugh, Madeline! I feel the same way about plants in the office where the physical therapists do their thing.

    1. Good point about the physical therapists' office! You want to see growth and thriving there as well. :)

  13. Ha! Good point. I don't think my doctor has any plants in her office, and if she did, they'd be plastic.

    1. I'm not sure if, in this situation, plastic plants are better or worse than no plants. :)

  14. I'm just imaging a doctor's office waiting room full of dead plants and years old Time and Men's Health.

    1. Ha! I can't even remember the last time I looked at a magazine in the doctor's office. I usually do stuff on my phone or just sit and think. :)

    2. Same. Typically, I'll have a cup of black coffee and play word games on my phone or read while chattering nervously to anyone near me. I dislike going to the doctor.

    3. Oh, I hear you. Going to the doctor is far from my favorite thing to do.
