I usually refrain from buying too many plants and flowers since they will most likely die in my care, but I couldn't resist bringing home this tulip plant. And surprise - it's not only still alive but blooming, with more buds about to open!

Baseball's Spring Training is in full force around Florida. I actually like going to these games better than regular season ones. The Port Charlotte field where the Tampa Bay Rays play is so open and fun and fan-friendly. Look how close we are to the players! So many of them - Ben Zobrist, above - take the time to stop and sign autographs for fans.

We have some Sandhill Cranes that live in our development and every March they have their babies. Don't they look like ducklings?

And the tortoises love the warmer weather because it means they get to dine al fresco. Here they are feasting on some fresh parsley.

Have you seen signs of spring in your neck of the woods yet? What are you most looking forward to as the warmer weather arrives?
I love the pictures of the sandhill cranes and the tortoises! And the start of baseball is my favorite thing about spring.
ReplyDeleteThe people around here love to watch the cranes and everyone is so careful and considerate of them, not getting too close etc. Although, I think those cranes are so used to everyone - they practically pose for the cameras.
DeleteAnd my husband counts down the days until Spring Training starts. :)
You're spoiling those turtles!
ReplyDeleteI bet the spring training games are fun.
Ha! I think they are, too. :)
DeleteAnd the games really are a lot of fun.
What great pictures—just what I needed to see today! We're having a blizzard. Ugh. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Wednesday!
Ack! I'm sorry to hear about the blizzard. Hang in there!
DeleteSome snow geese have stopped by in the fields but no, we're getting some snow tonight and single digit wind chills tomorrow. Yuch!
ReplyDeleteAck! Stay warm! Spring will be there soon…I hope….
DeleteI love these pictures of the signs of spring! Although I'm off to do some afternoon and evening skiing soon and don't want all the snow to leave yet, I am thankful for the daffodils in our yard.
ReplyDeleteAnd your turtles are so cute! :)
It sounds like you've got the best of both worlds!
DeleteI'll let the torts know.... :)
Oh my gosh. If I were there, I'd be at spring training every day! Thanks for the pics, Madeline, such a lovely little boost today!
ReplyDeleteYou're very welcome, Cathy!
DeleteNice pics! Blooming tulips...usually in May in Indiana. Thanks for the perk up! :)
