Success!

I've had some great news over the last few days - three of my stories were accepted for publication!

"Absolution" is already up at One Forty Fiction - all the info is in this post. It was my first ever Twitter Fiction and it was a lot of fun to write. It reminded me of Hint Fiction.

"The Hoarder's Wife" will be in the summer issue of Boston Literary and "Evie" will be in Every Day Fiction some time in the next couple of months. ("Evie" won an Honorable Mention in the String of Ten THREE contest over at Flash Fiction Chronicles awhile back.)

Both of those stories were Write 1 Sub 1 stories which means I've managed - finally! - to make The Writer Hall of Fame list on the site's sidebar. The W1S1 Challenge has been amazing for my writing and my focus, and I am thrilled to be a part of it.

In Hint Fiction related news, Eric over at "You Fight Like Anne Rice," gave the Hint Fiction Anthology a great review and gave my story, "The Empty Nest," high praise indeed. Oh, and Robert Swartwood is running the Hint Fiction Contest the Third over at his blog. Go on and give it a try - but HURRY, the deadline is midnight April 30th eastern time. The judge is none other than Joyce Carol Oates! (Gulp!)

How is everyone else doing - writing-wise, reading-wise, in general?

  1. Congratulations! Nothing like someone saying, "Yes!" to your material. I understand W1S1 can be grueling but good to see the payoff. Have a wonderful weekend absorbing the good feelings. Blessings.

  8. Madeline, you are AWEsome! Three stories in one month? I should be so blessed. Of course, first, I'd have to submit something. Well, you've inspired me to do just that. Thanks, and congratulations!

  9. Thanks so much, Arlene!

Yes, submitting the work is an important part of being published. :) Maybe you'd like to check out the W1S1 challenge for yourself? The monthly version might be a good place to start - it's helped me a lot.
