WE CANNOT WASTE TIME.
WE CAN ONLY WASTE OURSELVES.
(George Matthew Adams)
I think this quote is fascinating. How often do we chastise ourselves for wasting time? We scold ourselves for watching too much TV or spending too many hours on social media or filling hours with useless worrying.
But it's really not about the actual minutes, is it? It's about what we did with ourselves in those minutes. The minutes, hours, days, etc. are what they are, regardless of what we do or don't do. It reminds me of that saying about how the time is going to go by whether or not you write that novel or climb that mountain or make that move to Italy.
This Monday will end. It will have done its job. Will we have done ours? Will we have wasted ourselves today or will we have written that story, read that book, helped someone out, tried a new restaurant?
Please make the minutes matter - whatever "matter" means to you.
