Advice for Writer Advice's Contest

In January, I let you all know here about Writer Advice's 7th Flash Prose Contest (deadline in April!)

Well, B. Lynn Goodwin, Managing Editor of Writer Advice, answered "Six Questions For..." providing valuable insight into what Writer Advice is looking for in subs and stories.

Go on and give it a read before you enter. You are going to enter, aren't you? Come on, you can do it!

Call Out for Contest Entries: Writer Advice's 7th Flash Prose Contest

In 2011, my story, Hungry, won First Place in this contest. Now, I'm hoping you all will give it a try!

And don't let the fact that I'm one of the judges for the 2012 contest sway you either way. I'm objective. And I'm tough. (Really. I am. Stop laughing.) Besides, the judges don't get to see any author bios anyway.

You can read the winning stories and find all the information here. You have until April 2012 but don't wait too long. The deadline will be here before you know it.

Good luck!

"Hungry" for a First Place Win!

I am beyond thrilled to share the news that my story, "Hungry," won First Place in Writer Advice's Sixth Annual Flash Prose Contest!

I was just blown away when I got the news. This is one of those stories I am particularly proud of. Don't get me wrong - I like all of my published stories, but there are just some that make me feel even better about being a writer. If that makes any sense.

You can read "Hungry" at the link above or here. If you do check it out, I hope you enjoy it and I also hope you are moved reading it the same way I was as I was writing it.
