Motivational Monday

NEVER CONFUSE A SINGLE DEFEAT
WITH A FINAL DEFEAT.
(F. Scott Fitzgerald)

Please don't let one rejection letter or bad review stop you from writing.

Please don't let one naysayer stop you from dreaming.

Please don't let one snide comment stop you from creating.

Please don't let one setback stop you from living the life you desire, the life you deserve.

Keep going! You can do it!

    1. It's a shame, but I think it does stop a lot of people. Not us, though. :)

  2. This reminds me of Thomas Edison and his light bulb. "I've not failed. I found 10,000 ways that won't work."

He kept going and look what he accomplished.

  3. AGH that second one! I've basically been letting one person's harsh words keep me from writing for several months. It's a hard thing to let go of.

    1. Some people recommend using that anger/disappointment/hurt to fuel - not to deflate - our creative endeavors. Easier said than done but maybe worth a try?

  4. It always breaks my heart when someone wants to give up with one rejection or hurtful comment. They have to remember it's one person who said that and not everyone will be the same. Write on!

    1. It helps to have someone to remind us of that and/or to have/build a thicker skin. "Write on" is right! :)

  5. Yes, one negative comment should not stop us from writing. We should keep trying and trying some more. Never give up should be our motto.

  6. Perfect quote for writers though it's usually dozens and dozens of defeat before victory.

    1. If I was brave enough, I'd have this quote tattooed on my arm so I could see it every day, every time I went to write/type, etc. :)

  11. It's hard to ignore the negatives of this business, but if you don't you'll never get anywhere with your writing. Good post to remind us of that.

    1. I think we can all use this kind of reminder once in awhile. I know I can. :)

  12. Wonderful motivational quotes. I needed those. Indeed there's quite a bit of negativity out there, and we have to remind ourselves to keep pushing forward.

  14. Sometimes it is the hope of success and the drop to reality that hurts the most, but I'm back at it just the same. :-)

  17. Sometimes the negatives slow me down for a little while, but they never keep me down. Thanks for the reminder!

    1. They slow me down, too, sometimes. I think that makes sense. As long we don't let them keep us down, it's all good. :)
