Motivational Monday

WHEN YOU REACH THE END OF YOUR ROPE,
TIE A KNOT IN IT
AND
HANG ON.
(Thomas Jefferson)

This one is for all of us who think we're at the end of our ropes, whether in our writing careers or in some other area of our lives.

Hang on . . . until a net appears, cradling us, easing us down safely.

Hang on . . . until strong arms appear, supporting us, settling us on solid ground.

Hang on . . . until our own muscles gain the strength to haul ourselves back up that rope so we can begin again.

Hang. On.

  1. Thanks, Madeline. What a great reminder that whatever we're going through, we're going to be okay. (I used to have that poster with this quote on it—that one with the cat hanging on to the end of a rope. So cute...)

    Happy Monday. ☺

    1. So true! Just think about all the amazing things we might miss if we let go or if we let go before we should....

  6. I didn't know that saying came from Jefferson. I thought it was a more modern saying but it certainly stands the test of time.

  7. Love this quote. In fact, I think it's perfect for a friend of mine. I'm going to text it to her right now :) Eventually those saving graces come. We just need to hang on! :)

  9. I agree with this 100% So often, we are NOT at the end of our ropes, even though we think we are...

    1. When we want to let go the most is when we have to remember these words.

  11. There's been a few times I've reached the end of my rope on things. What saved me was having someone there, to lend a hand or support.

  12. I repeated that saying to myself many times while trying to get published and finally it worked out, if that helps anyone.

You were tagged on my blog today, so hopefully you'll meet a few new people!
