Motivational Monday Quote

SURROUND YOURSELF WITH PEOPLE
WHO RESPECT AND TREAT YOU WELL.
(Claudia Black)

Negativity is like the mold that forms in the corners of the shower - creeping and insidious. We might not notice it at first or, if we do (or if you clean your house like I do), we let it go for a bit.

Negativity is like the weeds that grow in-between the patio's cracks. It's no big deal, right? We just step over them (or send Larry out to graze as if he's at a buffet.)

It's the same with some of the people in our lives. We ignore the pessimistic attitudes, the disinterest, the discouragement because maybe, at first, they're subtle or they're not that big of a deal. We can still turn away, still step over them. But eventually that mold will stain and those weeds will reach and it becomes harder to remove them.

I don't know about you all, but I don't want to spend my life scrubbing and weeding negativity out of my life. If we keep an eye on it from now on, maybe we can stop it before it has time to grow and spread and take us down.

  1. Wise words that are well worth heeding. If we begin scrubbing it is intersting how those around us will begin scrubbing as well. Thanks for this timely reminder.

  2. You're welcome, Sally.

I hadn't thought about others "scrubbing" as well - good point!

  3. I think I've gotten most of the negative people far, far away from me. Now I have to regularly scrub it out of myself. Something worth remembering, so thanks for the wise words.

And congrats on your W1S1 success. An honorable mention may not count in the tally, but it's absolutely an achievement.

  4. Good for you, getting the external negativity away from you. Any words of wisdom you'd like to share? :)

As for scrubbing it out of myself/ourselves - it's a daily task but, in my opinion, one well worth it.

And thank you so much for your kind words re my Honorable Mention!
