Motivational Monday

STOP MAKING EXCUSES
AND
START TODAY.
(Fiona Barton)

Do you want to write a novel? A collection of poetry? A memoir?

Do you want to start a blog? Join Instagram or Tumblr or Twitter?

Do you want to learn how to cook, draw, dance, play Ultimate Frisbee?

Do you want to lose weight? Eat less meat? Watch less TV? Read more?

Well, what are you waiting for?

Start!

Somehow. Someway. Somewhere.

Just. Start.

    1. For me, I used to feel like everything had to be in order, the decks cleared, etc before I could start anything. Yeah, like that was going to happen. :)

  3. If I could only tattoo this on my husband's arm. LOL!

  4. Timely. I'm having a course correction throughout this year, and it's somewhat terrifying, but exactly what needs to happen. If only these things could happen over night, eh?

  5. I always have a hard time getting started. Perhaps this shall be the push I need to get over that hump. :)

  6. Great advice! I definitely make excuses or just don't even try to do the things I want to do.

  7. MJ - when I get overwhelmed or intimidated, I think of the smallest step I can take and just do that. I usually end up doing more, but if nothing else, at least I started. :)

Sarah - we can talk ourselves out of most anything, can't we? Why can't we talk ourselves into and through? :)

  8. Great advice. We shouldn't wait for the "right time" to start on something. We should just go for it now.

    1. I think there's some merit to waiting, but it's when we wait until things are "perfect" that we get nothing accomplished.

  9. I want to clone myself so at least one version of me gets some rest! :D

  11. I agree about the start part. If we don't start, we will never get anything done.

    1. You'd think that would be the easiest part, wouldn't you? But not always.

  12. Sigh, and here I was thinking I didn't to start my self-imposed soda ban today. But, I have started my novel :-)

    1. Maybe try having one less soda today instead of going cold turkey?
