A FINISHED PERSON IS A
BORING PERSON.
(Anna Quindlen)
Finished?! I'm nowhere close! And I hope I never am.
How about you?
Let's keep dreaming and creating. Let's keep growing and learning. Let's keep challenging ourselves, this week...and always.
I'll never be finished. Got too many things to do. :)
ReplyDeleteI hear you! :)
DeleteI keep hoping to never be finished. Definitely need some polishing in some areas.
ReplyDeleteI think most of us could use some polishing now and then. :)
DeleteI still require so much work that I may never die...
ReplyDelete:)
DeleteFinished? Nope, never!
ReplyDeleteThere's a lot of us around here. :)
DeleteI sure hope I'm not finished! I've still got way too much that I want to do.
ReplyDeleteMe, too! So much to do, so much to learn, so many books to read, so many stories to write.... :)
DeleteNope, I'm not finished either... Phew!
ReplyDelete"Phew" is right!
DeleteI don't understand how anyone can be a finished person! There's always more.
ReplyDeleteI guess maybe if you stop learning or challenging yourself or trying new things.
DeleteThere's always one more hill to climb...at least until the devil catches me. :)
ReplyDeleteHa! :)
DeleteFinished implies the end, right? It means stopping. And who wants to do that?
ReplyDeleteOne of my (non bookish) friends asked me why JK Rowling continued to write even after the last HP book came out.
me: "uh, because she's a writer."
him: "you know what I mean."
me: "not really. Just because she wrote seven highly books doesn't mean she should just stop. You can't stop being what you are, and for her, that's a writer. Do brain surgeons retire after a few successful operations?"
Plus, who wants to be boring? It takes too much energy not to create. In my opinion.
LOVE this comment! Especially the part about it taking "too much energy not to create." :)
DeleteI'm still pondering what I'm going to do when I grow up!
ReplyDeletePeople seem to have many different careers and hobbies and experiences as they age. Maybe there is no growing up after all.... :)
DeleteI learn more today than when I went to school. I doubt I'll ever be finished either. :-)
ReplyDeleteAnna from Shout with Emaginette
I tend to forget a lot more than I used to. Maybe I should give myself quizzes and assignments, give myself gold stars. :)
DeleteAbsolutely! Keep growing, keep dreaming, keep living! Thanks for the boost. :)
ReplyDeleteYou're very welcome!
DeleteWhenever I think I'm finished anything, even a book or a query letter, I find out otherwise. I'm a perpetual work in progress. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of being a work in progress. I particularly like the word "progress." :)
DeleteI know older people who just stop doing anything. They don't leave the house...they just wake up every day, move around, and go to bed at night without accomplishing much of anything. I hope when I get older I'm still doing something...but I'm not sure what that something will be (besides writing, assuming I still have my mental faculties in check).
ReplyDeleteI know exactly what you mean. I hope I'm still writing and learning, as well as being mentally and physically active as I get older.
