DON'T BE 'A WRITER'.
BE WRITING.
(William Faulkner)
Well, what are you waiting for?
Get writing!
Get painting!
Get dancing!
Get cooking!
Get dreaming!
Get creating!
Get going! Now!
(Boy, did I need this kick in the pants myself. It hasn't been such a great summer for writing or creating. But it's a new day, a new week, and the summer isn't over yet, right? Right!)
I like that. :)
ReplyDeleteGood! :)
DeleteI find myself needing a bit of downtime this summer... I think it is the go go go I've had this last year to get all of Shot out, so now that it (nearly) is, I'm having trouble kicking it into gear. It will happen, though.
ReplyDeleteI keep reminding myself that downtime and fallow periods are okay, that they can be rejuvenating, invigorating. But I'm starting to get antsy....
DeleteI've been so darn busy this summer too. Might need to slow it down a bit before I get burned out. Thanks for the Monday inspiration!
ReplyDeleteYou definitely don't want to get burned out. Hang in there!
DeleteIt's funny (or perhaps sad) just how often I need to remind myself to write.
ReplyDeleteBut cooking...I'm going to skip that. I start fewer fires that way...
If you focus on meals that don't actually have to be cooked - like big salads - you'll be okay. :)
DeleteI'll get to it tonight! I'll create some music though since I'm still waiting for my manuscript to return.
ReplyDeleteCreating music totally counts!
DeleteThanks for the reminder Madeline. I too need that hard kick in the pants to get back to my writing. And thanks for the wonderful book suggestions on my blog. I have noted down the names of the books.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad! I hope you enjoy those reads. I've actually got a Favorite YA shelf over at Goodreads if you're looking for more recommendations.
DeleteSuch a simple quote but also so perfect!
ReplyDeleteSimple, but not always easy. :)
DeleteI need this little lecture at least once per week.
ReplyDeleteI hear you! Maybe we should bookmark this post? :)
DeleteI am writing! (After a taking a little pause to read this post. ^_~)
ReplyDeleteDon't worry, that's allowed. :)
DeleteHa! Love this. Very motivational. :)
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear it!
DeleteOooh I love this!!! :D
ReplyDeleteGood!
DeleteYou're right! I'd better go write something ;)
ReplyDeleteGet going! :)
DeleteThanks for the motivation this morning. I needed that :)
ReplyDeleteI so hear you....
DeleteI'm not a painter, but I'm painting my bedroom! Does that count? :D
ReplyDeleteAwhile back, I painted my home office, and I would say the results were definitely creative. :)
DeleteI'm writing, I'm writing, and re-writing and re-writing. Whew!
ReplyDeleteGood for you! Keep going! :)
DeleteAHHH! Perfect!
ReplyDeleteGlad you liked it!
DeleteYeah, I'm gonna give a "Preach it, Sister!" on that one. Can't seem to get the actual, you know, writing done. But I will. WE will. :-)
ReplyDeleteI know WE will!
DeleteI KNOW. Man, around keeping kids out of trouble in a new environment, there hasn't been much time left for fun, er, work. ;) Thanks for the kick in the pants.
ReplyDeleteMost of us - myself included! - need a kick in the pants once in awhile. :)
DeleteAMEN!!! I wrote about this (sort of kind of) today myself :) Thank you for the great kick in the butt!
ReplyDeleteYou're very welcome!
DeleteI've had so many days recently where I feel like I'm accomplishing absolutely nothing. It's like running in marshmallow creme, as I always say! Great post!
ReplyDeleteI usually say I'm running in slow motion but I like marshmallow creme better...although, I'd probably stop and eat some of it and that would just slow me down even more.... :)
DeleteFrom time to time, we all need that 'kick-in-the-butt' reminder...
ReplyDeleteThanks!
You're welcome!
Deletechugga chugga chugga!
ReplyDeletethanks for the steam to keep moving!
(and for supporting my bbf tour =)
:)
DeleteYeah! I'm getting going now!
ReplyDeleteGo, go, go! :)
