Motivational Monday

DON'T BE 'A WRITER'.
BE WRITING.
(William Faulkner)

Well, what are you waiting for?

Get writing!

Get painting!

Get dancing!

Get cooking!

Get dreaming!

Get creating!

Get going! Now!

(Boy, did I need this kick in the pants myself. It hasn't been such a great summer for writing or creating. But it's a new day, a new week, and the summer isn't over yet, right? Right!)

  1. I find myself needing a bit of downtime this summer... I think it is the go go go I've had this last year to get all of Shot out, so now that it (nearly) is, I'm having trouble kicking it into gear. It will happen, though.

    1. I keep reminding myself that downtime and fallow periods are okay, that they can be rejuvenating, invigorating. But I'm starting to get antsy....

  2. I've been so darn busy this summer too. Might need to slow it down a bit before I get burned out. Thanks for the Monday inspiration!

    1. You definitely don't want to get burned out. Hang in there!

  3. It's funny (or perhaps sad) just how often I need to remind myself to write.

But cooking...I'm going to skip that. I start fewer fires that way...

    1. If you focus on meals that don't actually have to be cooked - like big salads - you'll be okay. :)

  4. I'll get to it tonight! I'll create some music though since I'm still waiting for my manuscript to return.

  5. Thanks for the reminder Madeline. I too need that hard kick in the pants to get back to my writing. And thanks for the wonderful book suggestions on my blog. I have noted down the names of the books.

    1. I'm so glad! I hope you enjoy those reads. I've actually got a Favorite YA shelf over at Goodreads if you're looking for more recommendations.

    1. Awhile back, I painted my home office, and I would say the results were definitely creative. :)

  12. Yeah, I'm gonna give a "Preach it, Sister!" on that one. Can't seem to get the actual, you know, writing done. But I will. WE will. :-)

  13. I KNOW. Man, around keeping kids out of trouble in a new environment, there hasn't been much time left for fun, er, work. ;) Thanks for the kick in the pants.

  15. I've had so many days recently where I feel like I'm accomplishing absolutely nothing. It's like running in marshmallow creme, as I always say! Great post!

    1. I usually say I'm running in slow motion but I like marshmallow creme better...although, I'd probably stop and eat some of it and that would just slow me down even more.... :)
