The spider . . . boy's best friend? Or man's worst enemy?
Hmm, maybe reading "Strength in Numbers," now up at Devilfish Review will help you decide.
If nothing else, it'll make you think for a moment the next time you're about to step on - or save - that spider crawling along the floor....
You caught my interest. Off to Devilfish Review.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoy the story. :)
DeleteOh my gosh, this totally freaked me out! Amazing story, Madeline. :D
ReplyDeleteHee hee! Thanks, Julie. :)
DeleteEeek!! NOt my best friend - I have a huge spider phobia lol.
ReplyDeleteI hear you. I don't have a phobia, but I'm not their biggest fan either.
DeleteThat is an awesome story. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteI talk to spiders too. It goes something like this, "We have a truce. You better not be here when I get back." The spider then tried to hid behind my shear drape, so I could still see him. I said, "You're not hiding very well!!." He eventually figured it out and left.
Thank you!
DeleteI think you need to work that spider conversation into you Camp NaNo novel somehow. :)
I have to check this out. The one creature in the world I really fear are those creepy spiders.
ReplyDeleteUm, you might not want to read it then.... :)
DeleteMadeline, what a wonderful story! Such vivid but succinct detail and the BEST ending ever.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! :)
DeleteLoved your story!
ReplyDeleteI have to admit that I'm a spider-killer. I have a good friend who captures them and brings them outside. I don't think I could do that. *shudder*
Thank you!
DeleteFor me, it depends on how big and how creepy the spider is.
Gives new meaning to that quote, "Oh, what a tangled web we weave..." Perfect, creeps-up-on-you horror, Madeline!
ReplyDeleteI love that description - "perfect, creeps-up-on-you horror" - so much! That's my favorite kind of scary story. :)
