I've mentioned before how much I love the idea of Nailpolish Stories, A Tiny and Colorful Literary Journal, where all the stories are exactly 25 words and are named for nailpolish colors.
Perky and innocent names, like
"China Doll," can go in a very different direction in the hands of, well, someone like me.
Loved what you did with "China Doll". I don't as a rule wear *that* much nailpolish so I might need to research some colors...
ReplyDeleteSimon - thank you! And remember, you don't always have to write what you know... :)
ReplyDeleteI'm always so amazed how you can write something so powerful is so few words! Great story. :)
ReplyDeleteHa! Love it. Nice twist.
ReplyDeleteThat was rather chilling.
ReplyDeleteOoh, that was good :-)
ReplyDeleteJulie - thank you! I consider it a challenge and I love it. :)
ReplyDeleteEmily - thank you! I appreciate you reading.
Alex - I was going for chilling. Glad it worked!
Annalisa - I'm glad you liked it!
Congrats again! :) Vivid indeed!
ReplyDeleteStacy - thank you! I love when "vivid" comes across, especially in such short works.
