Welcome to The Blogging A-Z Challenge April 2012! Some of the most popular posts here at The Shellshank Redemption are the Motivational Mondays. So, after consulting the tortoises, we decided to make April our Motivational Month! Please join us for this (almost!) daily dose of alphabetical inspiration. We hope you enjoy it!
* TOMORROW MAY BE HELL, BUT TODAY WAS A GOOD WRITING DAY, AND ON THE GOOD WRITING DAYS NOTHING ELSE MATTERS. (Neil Gaiman) *
When the words flow, when the story clicks, when you’re chatting with your characters over coffee, yeah, there’s nothing else like it. I don’t care if dinner gets burned, if someone tries to bring me down with their negative energy, if the tortoises decide to flip each other over. (Okay, that I do care about and I will help them right themselves, but you know what I mean.) None of the bad stuff matters, none of it has the power to matter, because that day was a good writing day.
Hi...I'm hopping over from the A to Z challenge. Lovely post...good luck with the challenge.

So true! Don't worry about what tomorrow will bring. Make the most out of today, even if it's hell. Hehe. :)
ReplyDeleteDonna - thanks for visiting!
ReplyDeleteEmily - I always say I would rather have a bad day writing than a good day working at some job I don't like. :)
Oh. Yes! That's the *high* of writing. I feel better just reading your post! Thanks for that!
ReplyDeleteMargo - you're very welcome! :)
ReplyDeletePopping across on a reciprocal visit as a fellow A-Zer.
ReplyDeleteVery happy to meet you and thoroughly enjoying your blog.
Amanda - thanks for stopping by! We hope you come back soon. :)
ReplyDeleteVisiting you blog for A to Z challenge!
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing like burning fire on the keys and really putting life to the characters you're wrestling with. Those days are superior to anything else!
Oh, this is one of my favorite writing quotes! Love this one. And I cracked up about poor Larry and Mrs. Larry flipping over, do they do that to each other a lot? I would feel so bad seeing their feet up in the air, poor things!
ReplyDeletethats a great go get em quote!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, you said it right.
ReplyDeleteKaren - thanks for visiting! :)
ReplyDeleteTara - we all need that kind of quote sometimes, don't we? :)
Laurita - I wish I had been the one to originally say it but thank you just the same. :)
Julie - they do flip over occasionally. Sometimes they do it all on their own, sometimes it happens because they were scrabbling with each other (like children!)
ReplyDeleteThey're supposed to be able to get back on their feet by themselves, especially if they have something to push off of, but sometimes we help them out. :)
Popping in from A to Z, read all your posts, love them but this one resonated with me. Adding you to my blog reading list!
ReplyDeleteDonna - thanks so much! I'm glad you're enjoying the posts. :)
