What's Left

My flash fiction piece, "What's Left," is now up over at Apollo's Lyre (September 2011.) Click here if you'd like to read it.

This is one of those stories that started out as an image that just wouldn't go away - a scar, alive and ropey and raw, snaking down a woman's back. This story is where that scar, that image, took me. Not at all where I thought I would end up, but I'm glad I took the journey.

    I'm glad you did, too. "The young woman’s bravado has become too heavy a mask for her to wear" -- that line stuck with me. Excellent work.
