Hey Madeline, I received my book today and have dived right in. Enjoyed your flash. I especially liked the image of a glass animal walking off the table.
"She lays her hand upon the door as if to still the monster's heartbeat."
Beautifully done. I can never get me head around writing short-short-shorts, so my hat really comes off to those who can, and who can do it well. Great story, and definitely "creepy" :)
Wow. That was simply stunning. Especially this line: A guttural, glottal sound heaves its way down the hall, the floorboards creaking with its weight.
ReplyDeleteSuperb!

Thanks so much, Ellie! I creeped myself out a bit as I was writing it. :)
ReplyDeleteI kind of do, too. No, strike that. I really liked it!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Milo!
ReplyDeleteI admit it, I really like it, too. :)

ReplyDeleteHope you're enjoying the book so far. My husband's reading my copy now. :)
I remember collecting glass animals as a child. Another great story, Madeline!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Stacy!

Thank you so much, Shane! I love to challenge myself by writing flash, etc. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Glad this one worked! :)
