Motivational Monday Quote

WHENEVER I HAVE TO CHOOSE
BETWEEN TWO EVILS, I ALWAYS LIKE TO TRY
THE ONE I HAVEN'T TRIED BEFORE.
(Mae West)

Honestly, I just like this quote. I like the attitude behind it, the verve, the oomph. I like how she goes against the grain - she's not going to pick the lesser of two evils like the more famous saying goes. No. She's going to pick the one she hasn't tried yet.

Me, I'd probably curl up on the couch and wait for both of those evils to pass. But this quote makes me wonder where my verve and oomph are (probably hiding beneath the couch cushions) and that maybe I should take a few more chances myself.

Let's go against the grain today.

  1. I think I tend to pick the devil I know, or go the couch route, as well.

Here's to breaking up the routine!

  2. That couch route is so appealing, isn't it, Shelley? Especially if chocolate chip cookies are involved... :)

  4. Milo, I think most writers go against the grain to some degree anyway. :)
