YOU MUST STAY DRUNK ON WRITING
SO REALITY CANNOT DESTROY YOU.
(Ray Bradbury)
I thought this quote was particularly appropriate since a) I'd rather be drunk on books and stories and words than on alcohol and b) the Write 1 Sub 1 - A Year-Long Writing Experiment in Ray Bradbury's Shadow started this past Saturday. (Click on the web badge over on the sidebar for more information about this writing challenge.)
We deal with reality every day - from small things, like cleaning the house and doing laundry to larger things, like coping with a loved one's sickness or struggling with financial problems. We live it, we live in it. But that doesn't mean reality gets to win. It doesn't get to take our creativity or our dreams or our imagination. It doesn't get to...unless we let it.
This is a very good point, one to remember throughout the year. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, Sally. I'm glad these quotes give people (other than me!) something to consider. I love a good motivational quote. :)
