Foot in Mouth - The Sirens Call

I am honored to once again be included in The Sirens Call eZine's Annual Women in Horror Month Issue - Issue #37.

My flash fiction piece, Foot in Mouth (p. 32), is a twisted little tale about how, when you say something you regret, you're not always able to take it back, to remove foot from mouth. No matter how hard you try.

  3. Squish, squish. That'll teach me for keeping the volume low. :)

    1. "Squish" is one of those words that totally creeps me out.

      And thanks!

  4. That was seriously creepy, but good. I guess I shouldn't worry so much about my parent's hearing and the way they turn up the volume ... :)

  5. Well then. My grandmother used to say, "keep your words sweet. You may have to eat them." She didnt mention the part about them eating me. Well done!

  8. Oh, YUK!!! Great writing, but... YUK! So deliciously creepy. And you described the squishy creature's actions soooo well. (I'll never complain about stepping on an innocuous little hairball again!) :)

    1. I used to think it was weird that I took "yuk" as a compliment but not anymore. :)

And now all I can think of is stepping on a hairball, feeling those hairs elongate, slide through the toes, wrap around the arch....
