Time for a Break

April is a busy month for many of us, for many reasons. Here, in my little sunny, sandy part of the world, I've got lots going on, including moving house and finding my way back  to creativity and to the novel I've really missed working on.

To that end, I'm taking a bit of a blogging break. I'll still visit you all now and then, but I probably won't be posting new stuff here again until the end of April, the start of May.

We here at The Shellshank Redemption wish everyone a warm and wonderful April/Spring!

(And to everyone participating in The Blogging from A-Z April Challenge 2015 - good luck and have lots of fun!)

  1. I wish I could take a break. I signed up for A to Z before I knew about my ebooks being released in April/May and that I'd be moving just before the Challenge starts.

Enjoy your break and I hope moving day goes smoothly.

    1. I've already visited your blog today - you've got everything under control. Don't worry! :)

  2. Enjoy the break! Get lots accomplished & let those words flow. Missing your project is a good sign that the muse is about to take over.

P.S. You cracked my Survivor secret! It's such a good season!!

    1. Thanks, Nicki!

I didn't always comment on your Survivor posts, but I enjoyed reading them. :)

    1. I'll definitely be popping in and out, visiting blogs. I'd miss you all too much to go cold turkey. :)

  7. Enjoy your break! I'm doing the A to Z Challenge so that's pretty much the exact opposite of a break...

  8. If you're not involved in the insanity of the Challenge, a break might be a good idea.

  9. I guess we'll see you when you get back :-)

Here's my link if you'd like to drop by :-)

  10. I sat out for April last year, so I hear you. See you on the flip side!

  11. Good luck with the moving. When it gets stressful, just remember you don't have to unpack everything in one day, or even one month!

    1. A good reminder - one I definitely needed to hear. Thank you!

  12. April is the perfect month to take a break if you're not on the A to Z merry go round. See you back in May, oh wait, that's probably when I'll be on a break from April burnout.

    1. I might be back at the end of April, depending on how much I get done. Enjoy your May break! :)

  13. Take this month to relax and breathe. Do what you need to do and come back refreshed. Your words will still be there, waiting to get out :)

  14. Have fun moving. I don't know if I'll be able to manage blogging when we move. We're looking for a house for a while but we're getting annoyed by the small number of houses on the market.

    1. We weren't actively looking when we found ours but it's all worked out, so we're grateful for that. Good luck on your house hunt!

    2. Ha! We found one and bought it Friday--so we'll be moving at the end of this month. I join you and Chrys in the April moving craziness... I may have to shift to just reading blogs at some point and not replying to comments on my own blog.

    3. Yeh for you guys! I hope the move and all goes well. :)

  15. Have a great break! I'm doing the same ;)

  16. Enjoy your break. And it's probably a good time too. Give you lots of time to visit A to Zers. I didn't do it this year and it's nice to just be able to read and not worrying about posting.

    1. I do plan on visiting here and there, and you're right about it being nice to not have to post my own stuff for a bit.

  17. I get that, Madeline. I almost skipped the A to Z Challenge this year, but now that my blood g posts are done and scheduled, I'm hoping to return to my novel-writing, too. 😄

  18. I saw your comment on Janet Reid's blog post, so I thought I'd stop by to say the hyperlink worked!

  19. I'm taking an April break too, Madeline. I'll be making the transition to a new website/blog this month and I'm also participating in Camp NaNoWriMo. And then there are the tax returns we still haven't done, me sitting here in my Hot Pink foot cast and unable to go upstairs to my desktop, and a whole bunch more excuses. It just seemed like the right thing to do.

  21. Thought I's wade over from JR's blog.
I've got sand and salt water a mile as the crow flies from my house but it's so damn cold I'd freeze my pinky toes.

    1. I've got the sand and the water, too, but the sun is shining and the air is warm. Just how all of us here at TSR like it. :)

  22. Take a deep breath, run your feet through the sand, and soak up the sun! Everyone needs a break!

  24. See? This is what happens when you decide to take a break. All of JR's people show up and start making comments. Ha! No break for you!

    :)

    Well. Maybe a little one.

  29. Yes, enjoy your break, Madeline! (Though I suspect you will be as busy as ever!) :-)

  30. Moving? Um, yeah. You should be taking a break. Only insane people keep blogging around a move. (Says the woman who moved twice while posting weekly.) I'm sending cheese to help spark the creativity. Get back to writing, eh? Your works are phenomenal!

    1. Thanks, Crystal! At this point, I think I need chocolate covered cheese dipped in wine - or some combination - to help me right now. :)

  31. Well, the month is almost up so I'm the last to comment or perhaps the first on your return. Thanks for stopping by my blog and sorry I wasn't able to comment sooner, but I was traveling. I hope your move went well, it's never fun until you're settled into your new place.
